ENTHEONATION #9 - ERIE: Enthegenic Research, Integration & Education | Larry Norris

Larry Norris is the founder and the executive director of Entheogenic Research, Integration, and Education or most commonly known as ERIE. ERIE is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the sharing of entheogenic and transpersonal knowledge in a non-hierarchical, community based format, located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

They offer a platform for entheogenic research, integration and education. ERIE is not only a hub of integration information for entheogenic and transpersonal experiences, but they also host peer integration circles to facilitate meaning-making and community building. They host monthly educational events including symposiums, forums, and conferences on varied topics surrounding entheogenic research and activism.

Larry is a dedicated activist and an advocate of cognitive liberty. Larry’s efforts are focused not only on the change in the Western legal status of these powerful compounds, plants and fungus, but also to emphasize the possible sacred nature of the entheogens if given the right time and setting.

With my insightful interview with him, Larry shares:

  • [5:50] His inspiration in creating ERIE and how he discovered the need for the services that it provides.
  • [7:00] What makes ERIE unique in comparison to other organizations on psychedelic research.
  • [14:57] How ERIE’s therapists and clinicians support people through their integration period after a strong entheogenic experience.
  • [18:14] What drives more professionals, universities and medical centers to dive into entheogenic research.
  • [20:20] His research on transformational themes and triggers within ayahuasca experiences.
  • [22:50] Reasons why people experience grand historical themes when they engage in entheogenic exploration.
  • And so much more
